jt's treehouse

When a boy says he "needs a clubhouse," he needs a clubhouse! Two sturdy oaks later- with assists from family and friends (ifriends, too!)- this clubhouse should have this dad up a tree...and just in time, too!

Can You Say Wire Rope & Turnbuckles?...

Sure you can.

It's here! Wooo-wooo! Way to go, Henry! And it's some heavy duty looking stuff, too. Pictures will be forthcoming. Now for an afternoon stop tomorrow at Fastenal for the remaining hardware that's been lying in wait. There's no looking back now...

Somebody stop meee!

Hi! I too am planning on building a treehouse, and have enjoyed reading your blog. Have you checked out www.mcmaster.com? They have all kinds of wire rope, turnbuckles, etc. Galvanized, stainless steel, and many other options.

I'm still in the design phase for the treehouse I'm hoping to build. How did you learn about wire rope slings? I can't seem to find anything too useful on the web. In particular, I'm a bit confused about what I'd need to attach the wire rope to a connection point, how to terminate the rope, etc. Any pointers?

Thanks, and good luck with the project!

Hey, Pete & Kristen!

I have to apologize. We have had precious few comments posted here on our blog and your comments slipped in under the radar.

We came across the whole "swinging tree house" idea while visiting www.treehouses.com . Go there and check the table of contents on the left for the link to "Ken's Ultimate Treehouse."

Hopefully by now you have found the answers to your questions either here on JT's Treehouse or at Treehouses.com. If not, feel free to email us at theglock@gmail.com.
