When a boy says he "needs a clubhouse," he needs a clubhouse! Two sturdy oaks later- with assists from family and friends (ifriends, too!)- this clubhouse should have this dad up a tree...and just in time, too!

This blog is a testimony to my 6 year old, jt's dogged perseverance in pursuing his dream clubhouse. While others :cough: sought to downsize this project somewhat during the planning phase, jt would have none of that! Hence, our treehouse plans have become something quite worthy of blogging about.
Please check in on jt's treehouse regularly. It is said that it is all about the journey, not the destination, right? Who knows just what this will evolve into, but one thing is for certain...we are on our way. :wink:
(note: I, the dad half of "jt and dad" will be doing most of the actual posting here on this blog as we begin. jt will be either dictating posts to me or writing them out in longhand and leaving them for me to post. Either way, jt's posts or portions of posts will be enboldened -just like him!- while dad's posts will not. Rest assured, some day this will be...all jt!)

Hi! I too am planning on building a treehouse, and have enjoyed reading your blog. Have you checked out www.mcmaster.com? They have all kinds of wire rope, turnbuckles, etc. Galvanized, stainless steel, and many other options.
I'm still in the design phase for the treehouse I'm hoping to build. How did you learn about wire rope slings? I can't seem to find anything too useful on the web. In particular, I'm a bit confused about what I'd need to attach the wire rope to a connection point, how to terminate the rope, etc. Any pointers?

I have to apologize. We have had precious few comments posted here on our blog and your comments slipped in under the radar.
