Decking Redoux...

When I took advantage of some good weather back in January to lay down the decking I foolishly- yes, foolishly! -used only three screws for each board: One centered at each end and one in the middle. I also didn't read the grain to attempt to compensate for potential "cupping" of the boards due to exposure to the elements.

Doh!

While only a couple of boards needed to be flipped and re-screwed as a result of said "cupping", several were making the argument for what should have been a doubling up the screws from the get go: two at each end along with two mid board.

Since I couldn't very well remove the centered screws, I decided to go with "overkill", adding two more screws at each of the three locations.

That will teach those boards to cup with me!
